"Diet is die, with a 't'." - Garfield the cat.

About two and a half years ago I was pretty content with my body image. While in the back of my head the fat kid from high school kept rearing his ugly head and telling me that I was still fat I had him stifled to a whisper. I broke up with the girl I was seeing at the time and ended up losing about 15 pounds in a week due to the depression that followed. Not necessarily because of the breakup, but all in all it was just a fml kind of year and that was the straw that broke it all.

Fast forward to about two months ago and one of the employees where I work walks by and says, "are you putting on weight?". REALLY? I know I'm not a woman and thus by societal standards should not be hurt or take offense at such a comment but damn. So anyway... moving right along. I have decided to start working out more and counting calories again.

I guess a big push for this is that the fat kid is starting to get a little louder and I haven't really gone out that much lately. And being out of shape is obviously counter productive to getting dates. I can be the nicest, funniest guy, a gentlemen and full of engaging conversation till I burst, but when everything really comes into focus, I'm the fat guy.

So, besides other factors that need to come into play in the next year or less in order to avoid becoming the crazy cat guy, the diet is on.

Oh, dude. There is nothing wrong with being the crazy cat guy. That made me spout laughter. We'll just be crazy, single, cat people. That's who we are.

But the whole problem is that I don't wanna be the cat dude... Single with a live in or something if marriage never happens but dang. I can handle being single in the moment but eventually, eventually.
